A Second AA Rosette for Psalters Restaurant!
Congratulations to Head Chef Barrie Tucker and his team for securing a second AA Rosette for Psalters restaurant.
It’s no mean feat to gain an AA Rosette. The AA award scheme was set up to promote great cooking across the UK, and so it is perhaps surprising than fewer than 10% of all restaurants hold one rosette or above. Barrie said. “We are thrilled to receive this accolade for our food which we work hard to create and that will excite our customers all year round. Our ethos is to make best use of local ingredients and present beautifully cooked tasty food for everyone to enjoy”.
Essentially a visit by the AA to an establishment is a ‘snapshot’ with no notice given of the impending assessment, which requires a menu bursting with quality ingredients freshly prepared and cooked with precision and skill. The inspectors did not hesitate in their decision to award the second AA Rosette to Barrie Tucker but commented that, “the only difficulty was what to choose from the menu”! And not surprisingly for a hotel with a string of awards to its name, they were also impressed to find a relaxed atmosphere in a delightful setting.
Owner Nigel Way, offered his congratulations to his Head Chef and his team for their hard work and dedication and commented that, “We are proud to join the ranks of excellent restaurants with two rosettes on Exmoor in Somerset and we are especially pleased to be flying the flag here in Dunster.” The full list of awards for the coveted rosettes will be announced at the AA Hospitality Awards at Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane this September.
